Bankstown Airport was once the centre of a vibrant aviation industry providing hundreds of quality local jobs. The privatisation and sale of the airport to a superannuation fund has resulted in all this being lost. We are now faced with the prospect of a massive freight terminal currently being constructed behind Aldi adjacent to the Milperra Road/Henry Lawson Drive intersection. This is to be expanded to the north of the airport along Marion Street, Georges Hall. If this is allowed to come to pass our roads will become clogged with thousands of extra container trucks every day.
