In 2017 the NSW Government announced plans to allocate $100M to widen Henry Lawson Drive between the M5 and the Milperra Road intersection in what was marketed as a congestion busting measure. However the then Roads Minister Melinda Pavey was quoted as saying “This will allow for future growth along the corridor including at Bankstown Airport”. Now 4 years later a meagre $20M has been allocated for design work for an upgrade to the HLD/Milperra Road intersection between Tower Road, the entrance to the Bankstown Airport Freight Terminal and Keys Parade, the unmade road opposite Flower Power that Mirvac plan to access the new Riverlands housing estate. Council as the consent authority for this should refuse what many believe is a Trojan Horse for overdevelopment.
I have an alternative vision for our community which will create thousands of quality local jobs.
