Banking services have been progressively lost throughout the Canterbury Bankstown Council area from Panania, Condell Park, Belmore and Padstow. While many of us including myself regularly use online banking having a face to face banking shop front would provide many community benefits particularly for local business owners wanting to bank the days takings or pick up change for a float.

A simple solution would be that council put out to tender the provision of its own banking services. Having between $200 to $300M in the bank it could go the financial market place and choose a provider committed to returning face to face banking shop fronts to our local shops.
